Updated US Youth Soccer Age Group Information
Please Note: Beginning with the Fall 2026 season, the Avonworth Soccer Association (ASA) will be using the updated age group guidelines from US Youth Soccer. Families should use the age chart below when registering for Fall 2026 and future seasons.
Age Group Change
Starting with the Fall 2026 season, youth age groups will transition to a school-year basis (August 1 – July 31) rather than the current calendar-year basis (January 1 – December 31). This change aligns ASA with the updated age group standards adopted by US Youth Soccer.

| U9 | Aug. 1, 2017 – July 31, 2018 |
| U10 | Aug. 1, 2016 – July 31, 2017 |
| U11 | Aug. 1, 2015 – July 31, 2016 |
| U12 | Aug. 1, 2014 – July 31, 2015 |
| U13 | Aug. 1, 2013 – July 31, 2014 |
| U14 | Aug. 1, 2012 – July 31, 2013 |
Additional Information
- Typically, due to the number of players, ASA rosters teams at U6, U8, U10, U12, etc.
- Younger players can “play up” to an older age group if desired, but ASA may not be able to grant this request if numbers do not allow it. These requests will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
