New Uniforms for Fall 2022

Avonworth Soccer Association will be switching over to new uniforms for all teams playing in U10 and older.  We are excited about the change, but maybe we could have done a better job communicating the information.

Unfortunately, soccer uniform manufacturers (Nike, Adidas, Puma, etc.) all “sunset” a uniform design after 3-5 years and this is what happened to our old Adidas uniforms.  They were no longer available for purchase so we needed to find another uniform.  We worked with multiple manufacturers and distributors and ultimately selected Nike uniforms that are priced in the middle of the range, but most importantly, expect to have a very long life span (meaning they won’t be sunset).  In fact, the design itself is easily substituted by multiple manufacturers with little visible difference in the event that a change was needed.  It is our goal for parents to only need to re-purchase uniforms when a child hits a significant growth spurt!

We understand that the cost of registration + uniforms was greater than expected and this has been difficult for many people.  First, we want to apologize for not communicating this more effectively prior to registration…that was a miss on our part.  Second, if the uniform + registration expense caused financial difficulty for you, please reach out directly to me at cfhayes@gmail.com to work on getting a refund for a portion of the fees.  Finally, we are reviewing our financial forecast and surrounding community fees to determine if we can reduce rates in the future.  To be clear on the final item, we aren’t yet sure that we are in a financial position to do this, but we are undertaking the research.
